Abstrak

Obesitas adalah kelainan kronis yang saat angka kejadiannya meningkat cukup pesat terutama di era pandemic Covid-19 saat ini akibat terbatasnya aktivitas fisik keseharian dan upaya meningkatkan intake harian walaupun dengan tujuan awal meningkatkan imunitas. Apapun alasannya, obesitas yang merupakan salah satu dari kondisi malnutrisi atau gizi salah harus diwaspadai karena justru membawa dampak masalah Kesehatan yang bisa fatal. Hal yang disoroti disini adalah gangguan system imunitas terhadap infeksi bakteri ataupun virus. Dengan kemajuan ilmu kedokteran dibidang Biomolekuler banyak parameter-parameter system imun yang terbukti menunjukkan penurunan baik kualitas maupun kuantitas pada kondisi obesitas yang menyebabkan kerentanan terhadap infeksi.
