Perbandingan Efektivitas Platelet Rich Plasma VS Hypertonic Dextrose Prolotherapy terhadap Perbaikan Klinis Pasien Osteoartritis Genu

Abstrak

Latar belakang:

Osteoartritis lutut (OA) terutama menyerang orang yang berusia lanjut, menyebabkan degenerasi sendi dan penurunan mobilitas. Meskipun pengobatan saat ini meliputi obat-obatan dan pembedahan, terapi regeneratif seperti Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) dan Hypertonic Dextrose Prolotherapy (HDP) menawarkan alternatif yang menjanjikan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membandingkan efektivitas suntikan PRP dan HDP pada pasien OA lutut, untuk memberikan wawasan tentang pilihan pengobatan yang optimal.

Metode:

Penelitian analitik eksperimental ini melibatkan dua kelompok partisipan. Kelompok 1 (N=20) menerima suntikan PRP tiga kali di kedua lutut dengan interval empat minggu. Kelompok 2 (N=20) menerima suntikan HDP dengan konsentrasi 20% ke kedua lutut dengan interval yang sama. Numeric Rating Scale (NRS) dan Western Ontario and McMaster University Arthritis Index (WOMAC) dinilai sebelum dan sesudah penyuntikan untuk mengevaluasi perubahan rasa sakit, kekakuan, dan keterbatasan fungsional.

Hasil:

Suntikan PRP dan HDP secara signifikan mengurangi skor NRS, nyeri, kekakuan, keterbatasan fungsional, dan skor total WOMAC. Pengurangan nyeri, keterbatasan fungsional, dan skor WOMAC total lebih tinggi dengan HDP, sementara PRP lebih efektif dalam mengurangi kekakuan. Nyeri ringan selama injeksi dan pembengkakan lutut dilaporkan oleh beberapa peserta, tetapi tidak ada keluhan sistemik yang dicatat, dan semua efek samping teratasi dalam waktu seminggu.

Kesimpulan:

Suntikan PRP dan HDP sama efektifnya dalam mengurangi rasa sakit dan kekakuan serta meningkatkan fungsi pada pasien OA lutut. Prosedur ini menawarkan terapi yang menjanjikan, hemat biaya, dan mudah diberikan untuk OA lutut, dengan HDP menjadi pilihan yang lebih hemat biaya dibandingkan dengan PRP.
